The 16DA I/O’s PLC option offers 16 analog, digital, PWM, and interrupt I/O’s (8 inputs and 8 outputs). See Figure 16DA I/O’s Datasheet p2 below, for general and technical features, and input, output, and communications details.

Communications:

The 16DA I/O’s PLC option provides one each of the I2C, SPI, TTL, and RS-485 (half duplex) communications services. An I2C server may have up to 127 client nodes, which allows a network with more than 7100 total relay, analog, digital, PWM, and interrupt I/O’s.

NOTE: The I2C service is switch enabled – if enabled, the interrupt/digital isolated input and one analog/digital/PWM output are no longer available for use.
NOTE: The RS-485 service is switch enabled – if enabled, two digital outputs are no longer available for use.

Inputs:

One input is software configurable as either interrupt or digital isolated. One input is digital isolated. Six inputs are software configurable as either analog or digital isolated.

NOTE: The digital and interrupt input voltage range is from 7 VDC to 24 VDC.
NOTE: The analog input voltage range is from 0 VAC to 10 VAC.

Outputs:

Eight outputs are digital; of these, seven are configurable as PWM, and five are configurable as analog.

NOTE The digital/PWM output voltage range is from 5 VDC to 24 VDC,
NOTE: The digital/PWM current must not exceed 70 milliamps.
NOTE: The analog voltage range is from 0 VAC to 10 VAC.
NOTE: The analog current must not exceed 20 milliamps.
